Sanford L. Carter Sr.

President, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Sanford is a native of Hinesville and a graduate of Bradwell Institute High School. He attended South Georgia College and is a 1963 Honor Graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a member of Georgia Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, and Georgia Academy of Graduate Embalmers.

Very active in the Hinesville community for many years, Sanford served one term as Mayor Pro Tem and more than 30 years as the Liberty County Coroner. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hinesville, where he has served on the Administrative Board and the Cemetery Trustee Board.

He has three children and five grandchildren.

Sanford is a lifelong resident of Liberty County with deep roots in the community and a lifelong commitment to the funeral profession. He is a proud 1986 graduate of Bradwell Institute and went on to earn his degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1991.

With a lifetime of experience in the funeral industry, Sanford approaches his work with unwavering compassion, always striving to go above and beyond in guiding and supporting families during their most difficult times.

Outside of his professional life, Sanford enjoys fishing, listening to music, and spending quality time with his friends and family.

Andy Carter

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Andy is a proud native and lifelong resident of Liberty County. A graduate of Liberty County High School, Class of 2022, Andy continued his education at Ogeechee Technical College, where he graduated with honors in 2024, earning an Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Service Education.

A licensed funeral director and embalmer, Andy has been a dedicated part of Carter Funeral Home from a very young age, following in the footsteps of his family. He represents the fourth generation committed to serving the Liberty County community with compassion and professionalism.

Deeply rooted in faith and community, Andy is an active member of Gum Branch Baptist Church.

Dotty Bailey Fermin

Funeral Assistant

Dotty is a native of Hinesville/Liberty County and a 1980 graduate of Bradwell Institute. She has been an Administrative Assistant for the past 32 years and enjoys every minute of her job. She is married to Berny Fermin and has two adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, participating in church activities, traveling, and meeting people. But most of all, she enjoys being “Dot Dot” to her beautiful granddaughters, Asa, Kate, and Bailey, and her grandsons, Watson and Warner.

Berny Fermin

Funeral Assistant

Berny is a native of Aiea, Hawaii and a U.S. Army veteran. After serving 20 years in the Army, he and his wife, Dotty retired in Hinesville. He attended Paramedic school and retired after 28 years in the medical field. Berny enjoys volunteering at his church, going to the gym, traveling, and getting to help people in their time of need. He is a proud Dad and “Papa” to four adult children, and six grandchildren.

Logan Strickland

Data Management, Technical Support

Logan is a native of Hinesville, Georgia, and a rising junior at Long County High School. With over seven years of hands-on experience working with computers and various forms of technology, Logan is passionate about pursuing a career in the tech industry.

He is an active and engaged student, participating in several school organizations including FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), SkillsUSA, and the National Beta Club. His involvement reflects his commitment to leadership, service, and academic excellence.

Outside of school, Logan is a dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he continuously seeks ways to serve and support his community. He also plays a vital role at First United Methodist Church in Hinesville, managing the audio and video systems during Sunday morning services.

Driven, community-minded, and passionate about technology, Logan is laying the foundation for a promising future in the field.

Bea hall was born and raised in Germany and proudly became an American citizen. With over two decades in the Hinesville, Georgia area, she has come to love and serve this close-knit community she now calls home.

As the wife of a retired soldier, she understands the values of dedication, resilience, and compassion—qualities she brings to every family she supports. Her background and life experiences help her connect with people from all walks of life, offering comfort and guidance during their most difficult times.
