About Us

In 1941 Hazel Bagley Carter opened a funeral home in Hinesville. During the last 70 years, Carter Funeral Home has continued to be a family-owned business, working to provide complete care for families in times of sorrow.

After their Mother's passing, Sanford Carter, Sr. and Donald M. Carter took over the operation of the funeral home. After Don's loss, Sanford Carter, Sr. and Sanford Carter, Jr. now operate the business, making it a third

generation family business.

The funeral home moved to its present location in 1973.

We specialize in traditional services, cremation, shipping and preneed services. We received the Pursuit of Excellence Award by the National Funeral Directors Association for unique programming activity, outstanding accomplishment in funeral service and innovative achievement in the fields of professional, educational, and community service.
