George Edward Denmark, II

December 6, 1967 — October 27, 2017

George Edward Denmark, II, 49, of Midway, passed away on October 27, 2017, in his home surrounded by family. George was born the youngest of three children, on December 6, 1967, in Savannah, to Syble Gordon Denmark and George Edward Denmark, Sr., and was a lifelong resident of the Savannah area.

George graduated from Savannah High School in 1986, and went on to become a chef. He was well known in the culinary world around Savannah and well respected for his knowledge in his craft. Although he did manage a few restaurants, George was best known for and shined in an Executive Chef role. He “ran the kitchen” in several restaurants over the span of his career. Restaurants such as Mary’s Seafood and Steaks, Loves Seafood, City Market Café’, and Belford’s are on that list.

George married his wife, Rindy, on July 19, 2003. They shared fourteen loving years together.

George was the life of any party and a very talented singer and musician.  These talents led to another job and hobby…. Karaoke! George and his sister, Hilda, put their heads to together to form “Wasn’t That A Party? DJ and Karaoke”. He could get any bar hopping karaoke crowd going, but nothing beat sitting on a porch swing with him and his guitar, “a pickin’ and a sanging”. George’s other hobbies included golf, darts, fishing, playing poker with the family, and watching the Falcons play.

Many would say “To know George is to love George”, and that is a very true statement. Although he was quite a big man and covered in tattoos, George was simply a gentle giant. He was the kindest and most tender hearted man and always a jokester. He loved his family dearly and would have done anything for them. George will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Rindy Denmark, of Savannah; sisters, Hilda Denmark and Kay Denmark, of Midway; aunts, Jo Price, of Savannah, Sharon Gordon, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Linda Alford, of Midway, Gail Gordon of Baldwin Ga;  uncles, Jerry Gordon (Jeanie), of Tyler, Texas, and Carey Gordon of Hawaii; nieces, Cheyenne McCrary, of Atlanta, Treasure McCrary, of Richmond Hill, and Tara Brisendine (David), of Lumberton, Texas; nephews, Benjamin McCrary, II (Suzy), of Savannah, and Dustin Hambrick (Amy), of Midway; step-children, Leigh Gorlesky, Robert Fowler IV, Jason Fowler, Timothy Riner, II, and Kahan O’Carroll; two step grandchildren Brandon Fowler and Shawn Brown both from Georgia and a host of other cousins, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
