Yvonne Wilkes

Yvonne Wilkes, 86, of Savannah, GA passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. 

Yvonne was born on January 30, 1937, in Waycross, GA, to the late Verdie Wilson Cady and John B. Cady. She attended Ware County High School and later went on to become the owner and operator of Wilkes Trading Post in Midway, GA where she dedicated many years of her life. Yvonne's place of worship was Midway United Methodist Church in Midway, GA. She enjoyed spending time with her dearest friends, Edwina & AJ Williams and Lavonne and Jack Jones. They often embarked on hunting and fishing adventures together. 

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alton Cady, James Cady, Dudley Thomas, Sr., JW Wilkes, and Jim Conner; and her, daughter, Donna Thomas Osborne.

Yvonne is survived by her loving daughter, Trish Root; son, Dudley Thomas, Jr.; and her brother, Earl Cady.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery, 215 Martin Road, Midway, GA 31320.
