William Doug Wise, affectionately known as Doug, was born on September12, 1947 in Compton, California. He departed this life peacefully at home on September 19, 2024. Doug leaves behind a profound legacy, enriched by a life dedicated to service, faith, and family.

Doug's career included a distinguished tenure in the United States Marine Corps, where he demonstrated the of honor, courage and commitment. His time in the military left an indelible mark on his character and instilled in him a profound sense of duty.

In addition to his military service, Doug was deeply engaged in his community as a pastor. As a mighty man of God, he inspired many with his unwavering faith and dedication to spreading love and kindness. He was a man of strong convictions, who took great joy in both his faith and the simple pleasures of life, including hunting, which was a passion he cherished.

Doug had a remarkable love for his family, which was evident in every aspect of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Wise. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, which includes their children, Christy Clark (Brian) and Jay Wise (Lakisha), who carry forward his spirit. Doug was a proud grandfather to Janelle Wise, John Jr. Wise, Scott Clark, Janessa Ritter, Jacob Clark, Aaron Clark, and Lequis Veliz. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Kordell Tucker, Kaleb Tucker, and Alice Veliz. Each grandchild and great-grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in their accomplishments and joys. Additionally, Doug is survived by his brother, John Wise, and sister, Lynne Jerome, who will remember him fondly as a loving sibling and steadfast supporter.

Doug was also an ardent fan of the San Francisco 49ers, a passion that brought him joy and camaraderie with fellow fans. His enthusiasm for the team was just one of the many ways he connected with those around him.

While Doug is preceded in death by his mother and father, his spirit and love will continue to resonate throughout the lives of those he touched. A life well-lived, Doug Wise leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Memorial service will be held at Midway Methodist Church at 2 o'clock on Saturday at 2 P.M. with Pastor Hank Parry officiating.
