Together Again….

Thomas W Ainsworth, 90, devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather passed from this world on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Tom was born on January 21, 1934 in Weogufka, Alabama where he learned the lessons of hard work on their family farm. Tom went on to serve in and retire from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. Tom was very involved in his church, serving as Deacon and volunteering to visit those who were confined to home. Tom brought a calming voice and love to his conversations.

Tom was a wonderful family man, loving to his children, grandchildren and many who considered him a father figure. Fishing in his pond with grandchildren and church youth groups brought Tom great happiness.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Helen Prickett Ainsworth; and his son, Randy Ainsworth.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelly (Virginia); sons, Joe (Allison) and Tom (Rhonda); daughter-in-law, Darlene; grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim), TJ (Kristin), Jonathan (Hailey), Kirstine and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Declan, Aiden, Paige and Tommy.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home, 308 West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, GA 31313. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
