Terri Dawn Dunnermann

March 18, 1953 — August 26, 2022

Terri Dawn Dunnermann, 69, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital from kidney failure and cardiac arrest with her husband, Michael by her side.

Terri was born to Walter and Deloris Whitehead on March 18, 1953. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon with a double major of Psychology and Sociology. She lived with and cared for adult, mentally challenged women training them at home and working as a Job Coach with Bedford Somerset County workshop.

Terri was married to her husband, Michael for thirty-nine years and moved ten times all over the U.S. At the age of 2, she developed a limp and a fever. Her parents were told she had Polio and she was taken to the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. Dr. Jonas Salk was in the basement perfecting the serum. Terri was one of his guinea pigs and spent time in an iron lung. After several months, her parents were able to bring her home with a brace and goofy shoes. At 18 years old, Terri was free from Polio.

Terri went on to live a wonderful life. She loved to dance, sing, swim, Jazzercise, and even won many trophies for excellence in racquetball. She had a talent for arts and crafts. Stained glass was her favorite, then painting being trained in the craft. She enjoyed growing flowers and making arrangements, and creating homemade cards. Terri was the treasurer for CEPSA and the Live Oak Chapter of Decorative Painters. This spring, she learned how to raise Monarch Butterflies. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and sunset skies.

Terri was a member of the Adoration Team and loved singing in the church choir.

Terri was a loving wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many. Her pride and joy was her dog, Chase.
