Tato’o Mageo, Jr., 57, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and loving brother. To many he was known as Uncle John.

He was born in Pago, Pago, American Samoa in Utulei Hospital by his beautiful mother, Sofi Netzler and was named after his father, Tato’o Mageo. He has three brothers, Ieti Mageo, Jerry Mageo, and Jaron Mageo; and one sister, Karen Mageo. He met and married the love of his life, Eseta Miriama Savea Mageo, and his also survived by his three children, Faalelagi Savea, Palepa Mageo, and Pulu Mageo; and also his granddaughter, Atuani Mageo.

Tato’o served as a Minister / Layed Preacher under Doctor Uati Savea and First Lady Mele Savea from The First Samoan Church of Christ. He loved his Bishop and everything his Bishop wanted done, Tato’o would try everything to get it done. He was on the praise team at his church as the piano player and loved to sing for the Lord.

As you all know, he loved football “HOW BOUT DEM BOYZ!”, but most of all, he loved his family and the Lord. He continued to worship and serve our Lord God even in his final hours.

Anyone who new Tato’o can feel humbleness, love, and kindness in their heart.
