Shirley Ann Chapman

Shirley Ann “Madea” Chapman was born in Grove Hill, AL on September 18, 1950. Her parents, Johnnie and Novella Olds Chapman, her daughter, Rhonda Chapman, and her sister, Corine Chapman and other loved ones, preceded her in death. Shirley departed this life on May 11, 2025, at her residence, in Hinesville, GA.

Shirley relocated to Hinesville in 2001, where she later established a 7-year career working at Hinesville’s Super Walmart Center. Shirley loved shopping at the Goodwill, going out to eat, and chatting on the phone with her devoted sister, Johnnie AKA Sally.

Cherishing her memories are her five children, Vanessa Richards, of Hinesville, GA, Terry (Jennifer) Chapman, of Monroeville, AL, Lisa Brownlee, Jerri (Brad) Perry, and Emmitt (Tashia) Chapman all of Hinesville, GA. Four sisters, Johnnie Gamble of Montgomery AL, Minnie (Charles) Hayes, of Grove Hill, AL, Martha (Lorenzo) Allen of Fulton, AL, and Margaret (Ricky) Duncan, of Grove Hill, AL; Three brothers, Walter (Dorthula) Robinson and Tommie Lee (Kimberly) Chapman both of Grove Hill AL, and Robert (Darlene) Chapman of Jackson, AL; Eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grands, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Also cherishing her memories are her devoted neighbors, Ms. Brenda Johnson, Ms. Erica Gibson, and her grandson, Micheal Chapman, all of Hinesville, GA.
