Ronald ‘Ronney’ William Smiley, 71, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by family after a short illness.
A lifelong resident of Liberty County, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. A lover of history, he enjoyed participating in historical reenactments for many years.
Ronney is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Louise Smiley and their children, April Smiley of Ludowici, and Candi Smiley of Savannah; grandchildren, Cody Smiley (Madison), Kelsey, Lezly and Nieves Ramirez; his brother, Mike Smiley (Evelyn); and his sister, Judy Guyett. As per his wishes we will hold a Celebration of Life at his home in Ludowici on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2 p.m. Anyone who knew him is invited to attend and remember his wonderful life.
