November 30, 1942 — September 26, 2020

Robert Eugene (Bob) Park (SFC, US Army, ret.), 77, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at home with his wife by his side.

Bob was born in Cottage Grove, OH. He joined the army at 16 years old and retired in 1981. After retirement, he became a truck driver and he enjoyed hauling cars across the US. He enjoyed watching the University of Georgia Bulldogs – Go DAWGS, golf and baseball. He also loved politics and was a huge advocate for Donald Trump.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer and Emma; son, Ryan Neil Park; and two sisters, Judy Lee and Sandy Park.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen Park; his children, Christy Ready, Travis Park (Shelly); Steven Mitchell (Leslee), and Sue Bragg (Patrick); five grandchildren, Camden Ready, Lance Travis Park, Lacy Park, Shayna Grajo, Ryan Grajo; one great-grandchild, Oliver Park.

In addition to his immediate family, Bob was also close with his extended family, Joanne McCormick (Bob), Sue Lynn Sanborn (Randy), Stevie Currier, Peyton Currier, Rosie Highers (Ted), Bridgette Tiner (Reese), Isabelle Liberty, Alexandria Highers, Aurora Devito, Nicholas Highers, and Ava Claire.

Memorial services will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, seating at the service will be limited. Social distancing will be observed in all locations and the wearing of masks is required.
