Ray McGhee, Sr.

Ray McGhee, Sr., 62, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020.

Ray was born in Lake Village, Arkansas on June 25, 1958 and joined the United States Army when he was 18 years old. He lived in Hinesville for the last 35 years. Ray was a kind person with a witty sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, watching scary movies, and had a passion for music. But mostly, he liked to brag about his family. Family meant everything to Ray. He was the most loving husband and the best father. He will be deeply missed and always loved.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Mae Hayden.

He is survived by his wife, Flora McGhee; children, Ray McGhee, Jr., Sherry McGhee, and Tonya McGhee all of Hinesville, Georgia; stepson, Tony Quarterman of Hinesville, Georgia; stepson, Justin White; stepdaughters, Latrinka White and Lacaunia White all of Sacramento, California; sisters, Linda Rucker of Lake Village, Arkansas, Lisa Taylor and Teresa Hayden of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers, Roy McGhee of Omaha, Nebraska, Odell Taylor and Wendell Taylor of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Patrick Taylor of Lonoke, Arkansas; grandchildren, William Pope of Allenhurst, Georgia, Latonya Pope and La-Niyah Wallace of Hinesville, Georgia; step-grandchildren, Tyler Mixon, Kira Williams, Joshua Williams, and Isla Rose White Muhamed all of Sacramento, California; brother-in-law/cousin, Michael McGhee Jackson of Bellevue, Washington; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services for Ray will be private.
