Mary Louise Bennett

Mary Louise Bennett, 98, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Candler Hospital.

She was born on October 12, 1923 in Clarion, IA and lived the past sixty years in Hinesville. During the war years, she went from her family’s Iowa farm to New York City to work as a radio operator for Trans World Airlines. In later years, she did secretarial work with Civil Service on Ft. Stewart. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Hinesville where she held many positions. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jarve E. Bennett; and son-in-law, Dennis Barbee.

She is survived by two daughters, Anna Barbee and Julie Barbee (John Barbee); nine grandchildren, Carol (Keith), Dennis (Kendal), Paul (Celina), Linda, Susan (David), Deborah (Don), Aaron (Michelle), Adam (Leslie), and Martha (Ben); and twelve great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Liam, Victoria, Jordan, Cameron, Caydance, Isabella, Jadon, Joel, Kerith, Desmond, and Samara.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church of Hinesville. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
