Lucas Ross Herring

February 1, 2013 — April 24, 2022

Lucas Ross Herring, 9, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 with his Big Daddy, Billy Wayne Houston, II by his side.

Lucas was adventurous and enjoyed being outside riding his bike, hiking trails, and fishing. He was always eager to take a trip to the beach and search for seashells. He was fun, and energetic, and loved playing tag, jumping on the trampoline, and hide and seek with his friends. He often looked forward to having (and winning) a Nerf Gun war with Billy every other night. He looked up to his big brother, Ethan. Lucas was cherished by his father, Mitchell and the memories they made together will live on with him always. Lucas and Ethan spent a lot of time together and would play Fortnite with Izabella, Amia, and Zaydien. He also enjoyed playing with his dogs, Chloe and Sira.

Lucas had a big heart and loved helping those in need, especially homeless people. He adored his mother and Billy with all of his heart and soul.  Lucas always looked after his mom and wanted the very best for her.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Gwenn Todd Tyson; great-grandfather, Raymond Tyson; great-uncle Bubba (Henry Rubertino); and Billy Wayne Houston, Sr.

Lucas is survived by his mother, Samantha Ames Herring; father, Mitchell Herring (Jennifer); three sisters, Chesney Herring, Kinsley Bottles, and Harper Mitchell; grandmother “Nona”, Angela Rubertino Powell and Papa Robert Powell; brother, Ethan Ames; auntie, Elise Ames (Steve Ashley); uncles “D” Donald Powell (uncle “S” Stephen Shull), and uncle Matt Herring; grandparents, Robert Ames, and Elliott Herring; nana, Stephanie Houston; aunt, Holly; and many extended family members.
