Louise Guibord Parker

September 20, 1942 — May 11, 2023

Louise Guibord Parker passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Louise was born in Montreal, Quebec Canada on September 20, 1942. She worked at Bell Canada as a teenager and rose to a manager’s position in their treasurer’s department reconciling the receipts of revenues for the Providence of Quebec. She was bilingual in both French & English.

She married an American while living in Toronto Ontario, Canada. While living in Toronto she and her husband became ski patrollers. Several years later, she moved to Michigan with her husband and began volunteering as a dog rescuer and fostering. She trained two of her own dogs as therapy dogs to visit hospitals and retirement homes.

She retired to Sunbury, Georgia in 2002 and served as treasurer of two homeowner associations and held these two positions for over 10 years. While living in Sunbury, she adopted numerous dogs and cats. Fortunately, she did not try to adopt any alligators that periodically passed through their lot.

Louise is survived by two sisters, Ginette and Renee.

Her ashes will be buried in both Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA, and a family-owned lot in Montreal, Quebec.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to a local animal rescue organization of the donor’s choice.
