Linda Poole

February 20, 1948 — April 7, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Linda Poole. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Linda was born to Tom and Eva Wilmeth on February 20, 1948, in Crockett, TX. Upon graduating high school, she went to work for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator in Houston, TX. It was there she met a soldier, Calvin Poole, they fell in love and married on August 24, 1968.

In 1969, Calvin and Linda welcomed a son while stationed at Fort Knox, KY, in 1970 they welcomed a daughter while stationed at Wierzburg, Germany. Two years later in 1972 they welcomed another daughter while stationed at Fort Hood, TX, completing their family.

Linda loved flowers, cooking, shopping, and going to the smokey mountains, she also lived life to the fullest in everything she did.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Carolyn, Sherry, Mary, and Joy; and her husband and love of her life, Calvin Poole.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Kevin (Monika) Poole of Townsend, GA; and two daughters, Sherry (Jeff) Henry of Moss Point, MS and Melissa Poole of Hinesville, GA; granddaughters, Sarah (Ryan) Taito of Savannah, GA, Candace (Jack) Langan of Indianapolis, IN; great-granddaughter, Elliana Langan; two sisters, Nancy and Rita; two brothers, Bobby and Gene; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.

She will be missed more than words can express and will remain in our hearts forever.

Linda’s family would like to take time to thank GHC Hospice of Hinesville for their compassionate and wonderful help with the caregiving of our mother in her time of need.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
