SFC Lewis Junior Tallent (United States Army, ret.), 68, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Coastal Manor.
He was born in North Carolina and has lived in Hinesville for the past 36 years. He retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 39 years, Samruay Tallent; two children, John Christopher Tallent (Leslie) and Julie Christine Tallent; two grandchildren, Adelilah Maria Tallent and Hunter Neal Vassey; one brother; five sisters; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services with Military Honors will begin at noon on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Lewis’ family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Seating at the service will be limited and masks are required to enter the funeral home.
