Larry M. Wilcox, a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on November 15, 2023. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments. Larry was born on October 29, 1943.

Larry grew up in Queensbury, NY and attended Queensbury High School. After completing high school, he embarked on a life of service to his country by joining the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in the military, he demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to preserving the freedom we hold dear. His years of service shaped him into the honorable and selfless individual that he became known as throughout his life.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Larry had a zest for life that was contagious. He found joy in various hobbies and interests, including gardening, fast cars, motorcycles, bowling, fishing, casino boats, and frequent trips to Tampa, FL. He approached everything he did with enthusiasm and vigor.

Larry's deep love for his family was evident in all aspects of his life. He shared a beautiful bond with his wife of 59 years, Leyda E. Wilcox. Their partnership served as an example of enduring love and mutual support for all who knew them.

In addition to Leyda, Larry leaves behind a son named Larry M. Wilcox Jr., residing in Glen Falls, NY; a daughter named Lynn M. Hannula and her husband Charles from Ludowici, GA; as well as six adoring grandchildren, Tiburon C. Hannula and his wife Haley from Salt Lake City, UT, Camellia Hannula from Statesboro, GA, Chase Wilcox, Cole Wilcox, Catherine Wilcox, and Gabby Wilcox - all from Glenn Falls, NY. Larry is also survived by his sister, Lila Norton and her husband Curt from Glenn Falls, NY, as well as his brother, Joseph Wilcox from TX.

Larry's passing came just one week after the loss of his sister, Maryanne Dennis "Candy" of Michigan. This double blow dealt to the family highlights the importance of cherishing the time we have with our loved ones.

To honor Larry's life and pay tribute to his legacy, a visitation will be held on November 22, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia, commencing at 3:00 PM.
