Krista Elizabeth Goff

May 13, 1989 — May 13, 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we announce, Krista Elizabeth Goff, devoted, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, her 33rd birthday. Her passing has taught us that life can change in the blink of an eye, but love is eternal.

Krista was born on May 13, 1989 in Beckley, WV; she was the best Mother’s Day gift any mother could hope for. She was an old soul full of many talents. She found passion in reading, knitting, and crocheting for hours. Her greatest accomplishment of all was her family. Krista was a loving, devoted mother and became known as “Baseball Mom” and a Cub Scout Leader. Her two sons were her drive and motivation in life. She was creative, intellectual, and irreplaceable. She could do anything she put her mind to, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Krista’s family and home was in GA, but she was a true mountaineer for life. She was baptized at Westside Baptist Church in Hinesville, GA and graduated in 2007 from Bradwell Institute where she played the clarinet in the Bradwell Band.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James “Dale” Lilly; paternal grandmother, Margaret Louise Short; uncle, Larry Dale Lilly; and cousin, Kaidence Renee Harvey.

Those left to cherish her memories are the love of her life and husband, Richard Goff; two sons and reasons for living, Richard “Charlie” Goff and Riley Martin Goff; loving father and mother, Richard and Trecia Short; father-in-law and mother-in-law; Gary and Darlene Goff; sister, “Babygirl” Rikki Short and her companion, Andrew Hitchcock; paternal grandfather, Gaylord Short; maternal grandmother and husband, John and Tina McClung; nana, Gaye and Mike McClanahan; second family, Richard “Dick” and Charlotte Goff; Jason and Elizabeth Townsend; and Krista’s first niece, Scarlett Townsend. When Krista married Richard, the Goff family welcomed her with open arms and we are forever grateful. Krista will be remembered by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, natural parent, Branam Basham and his family.

Krista gave the gift of life to a family waiting for a miracle through organ donation. She is a true hero. Charlie and Riley will know how selfless their mother was by her last act of kindness. Krista left this world way too soon, but she left it a better place.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Hinesville First United Methodist Church. Krista's family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Hitchcock, Jason Townsend, Christopher Lilly, Andrew Lilly, Sidney Lilly, and David Lilly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Vira, Butch Smith, Chadwick Atkinson, and Logan Cook.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinesville First United Methodist Church Pre-Kindergarten Program, 203 North Main Street, Hinesville, GA 31313 or to the Liberty County Humane Society, 279 Briarwood Circle, Hinesville, GA 31313.
