Kenneth “Kenny” Earl Moody, 59, of Long County, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at home surrounded by his family and friends after an extended illness. He was born in Savannah, Georgia, on March 5, 1964 to Earl and Gloria Jean Moody.
Kenny graduated from Bradwell in 1982. He was a member of the Allenhurst Presbyterian Church. He retired from the Georgia National Guard Training Center on Ft. Stewart and then went on to work for several local companies operating heavy equipment. He enjoyed hunting and was a long time member of Bull Town Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends. Kenny enjoyed working with his hands and had a special talent with woodworking. He loved to gather with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlos and Agnes Moody and Donald and Gracie Easton; uncles, Gerald “Jutter” Moody, and Carlos “Ed” Moody; aunts, Dolly Kicklighter and Shirley Cox; and cousins, Kimberly Moody and Morgan Rogers.
He is survived by his loving parents, Earl and Gloria Jean Moody; and daughter, Kylie Moody. Along with his immediate family, Kenny leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and a large group of loving and devoted friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in Allenhurst Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Moody, Rusty Moody, Harry Middleton, Randy Combs, Paul Krebs, and Randy Simmons.
