Kenneth Richard "Dick" Goff

March 25, 1939 — September 12, 2023

Kenneth Richard "Dick" Goff came into the world on March 25, 1939 in Malden, Massachusetts. He was in his home, surrounded by family, as he left this earth on September 12, 2023.

Dick was adopted by Jack and Evelyn Goff of Kentucky. In 1947, he and his family moved to Hinesville, Georgia. He played football at Bradwell Institute and graduated in 1957. He then attended Young Harris College, followed by a tour in the Navy.

While he was growing up, Dick was active in the Boy Scouts, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. As an adult, he also gained admission to the Order of the Arrow, where he was bestowed the Vigil Honor. A lifelong Christian, Dick was active in Hinesville First Presbyterian Church and Allenhurst Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon, elder, and elder emeritus. Dick also loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his dogs.

He enjoyed exploring new places, but Hinesville was always home. In 1962, Dick married Charlotte Herrin, and they raised two sons together. Dick worked as a water quality specialist and diver with the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He also served as a safety inspector at Coastal Utilities.

Dick was preceded in death by his father, Jack Goff, mother, Evelyn Goff Thompson, and granddaughter-in-law Krista Goff.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Goff and two sons, Richard Gary (Darlene) Goff and Mike (Melanie) Goff; grandchildren Richard Goff, Elizabeth (Jason) Townsend, Ellen Goff, and Michelle Goff; and great-grandchildren Charlie Goff, Riley Goff, and Scarlett Townsend.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Allenhurst Presbyterian Church, 30 Church Street, Allenhurst, GA 31301 with The Reverend Ben Beasley officiating. A brief reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
