Judy Anderson

June 7, 1945 — November 20, 2022

Judy Ann Anderson, 77, went to join her loving mother and father, Alma and Thomas Haggerty and her brother, Mike Haggerty, in the early morning hours on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. Judy was born in Hinesville, Ga. and will be greatly missed by her husband of 40 years, Joe. She is also survived by her daughters, Shelly Sprinkle (Johnny) and Kerry Perkins (Jerome); her two sisters, Linda Bjork and Sheila Fraser (Layton); grandchildren, Ryan Taito (Sarah), Allen Perkins (Shelby) and Kevin Perkins; along with many nieces and nephews to include her special great-nephew, Dylan Brown.

Judy began her working career at McLarry's Restaurant after graduating from Bradwell Institute and then was later employed by Mr. Tommie Lee at Hinesville Drug. After 10-12 years at the pharmacy, she was hired at Piggly Wiggly and spent the next 25 plus years in the grocery business. She was a dedicated and hard-working employee and Tommie recently gave her a wonderful compliment in saying that Judy had integrity. She was not one to 'call in sick' and was always willing to stay late to get the task completed. As General Merchandise Manager under Mr. Bill Goodwin at Kroger, she would do whatever was needed and she expected those who worked in her department to be as dedicated and diligent.

Judy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hinesville and had wonderful friendships in that church family. She numerous times shared special memories from Sunday School with Ms. Fleta Stanford. After she and Joe were married, they transferred their membership to the First United Methodist Church of Hinesville and immediately started new friendships which were easy for Judy with her warm, beautiful smile and loving attitude. Judy loved people, especially the babies, as well as the elderly, and had a special warmth and gentleness when in their company.

Over the last 8-10 years, COPD started to take from Judy some of the things she loved. Camping, walking on the beach, boating to St. Catherine's, fishing, working in the yard and tending to her flowers. Joe and Judy loved the same music and enjoyed many live concerts.  And the gallant warrior that she was, made giving up on her passions difficult. Later in life, she started to enjoy westerns on TV, reading and viewing all of her wonderful friend’s posted baby pictures on Facebook.

With that twinkle in her eye and radiant smile on her face, she is now and forever will be, in the loving arms of God. She would want you to know that she cherished each friend and family member and deeply appreciated all you did to help make her life wonderful.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church in Hinesville with Reverend Tony Caldwell officiating. Pallbearers will be Stephen Ryon, Brett Smith, Marty Martin, Patrick Edwards, Ben Floyd, and John Floyd.

In Lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to The First United Methodist Church, 203 North Main St. Hinesville, Ga. 31313.
