Joseph Fred Norby, 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long illness.
Fred lived most of his life in Liberty County. He was in the Georgia National Guard. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and he was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robbin and Jim Woods of Midway; son, Fred Norby of Midway; three grandchildren, Carson Woods, Nicole Butler, and Joey Norby; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Billy Norby, Dewitt Norby, and Hiram Norby; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A walk-through visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 in Walthourville Cemetery.
Masks are required to enter the funeral home.
