Jerry Michael Vines, 66, passed away unexpectedly August 22, 2019, at home.
Jerry was born August 30, 1952, in Johnson City, TN, and lived in Ohio before moving to Georgia 20 years ago. He worked for Georgia Carpet, Gulf Stream Security, Savannah International Airport Security, and as a crossing guard in Midway. He worked for the Savannah Morning News for the past 16 years.
Jerry enjoyed his vegetable garden, sailing with his brother, coin collecting, and Savannah Bananas baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Louise Vines.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Veronica “Roni” Vines; son, Cory Vines; brothers, Larry and Terry Vines; sister, Janice Stitak; and his beloved dog, Koda Bear.
Memorial Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to assist with expenses would be greatly appreciated.
