Jaron Raymell Jackson “Rakey” passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
Rakey was born on July 14, 1985 in Chicago, IL to Delmetia Jackson and Jessie Hodges. He received his basic education in the public schools of Hinesville, GA.
Rakey loved to sing, dance, and laugh. He always had a joke and was the friend that you could count on to make you smile if you were down. He was a very outgoing, caring, loving person and would encourage you with comforting words and lift you up. He also enjoyed baking and fashion. He always wore nice clothes and looked sharp!
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Elizabeth Jackson, Dorothy Jackson and Iola Cox; and his aunt, Lakeisha Cox.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Delmetia Jackson; father, Jessie Hodges; grandfather, Tom Jackson of Chicago, IL; sisters, Tiffany Ananaba (Emmie) of FL; Aletha Hodges, Tiffany Feggins, and Lawanda Alexander all of Chicago, IL; brothers, Anthony Jackson (Lori) of Hinesville, GA, Manuel Crum of CA, Jessie Hodges, Jr. and Tony Feggins both of Chicago, IL; aunts, Cathleen Jackson and Arneathea Jackson both of Atlanta, GA, and Sarah Baymon (Roylee) of SC; uncles, Little Tom Jackson (Jenna Ford Jackson), Wade James Jackson (Shawn Jackson), and Derrick Cox all of Chicago, IL, Charles Harden of Hinesville, GA, and Alexander Harden of SC; as well as a host of aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Dupree Family, Chintell Shaw, and Rakey’s best friend, Dustin, for loving him.
A candlelight vigil to honor Rakey will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in Hillary Park, 1101 Carter Road, Walthourville, GA 31333.
