Henry "Buster" Strickland

Henry "Buster" Strickland, 74, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Buster was a lifelong resident of Liberty County. He retired from the Georgia National Guard after 38 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was a founding member of the New Ground Hunting Club and a member of the Cherokee Rose Country Club. For many years, he coached baseball and football for the Liberty County Recreation Department. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends at his favorite place "Bulldawg Beach" watching UGA football games. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. and Marjorie Strickland; and his sister, Yvonne Madson. 

Buster is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharyl Strickland; son, B.J. Strickland; brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Sheila Strickland; sister, Linda Richardson; and several nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
