Frederick Roy Gose (MSG, U.S. Army, Ret.)

MSG Frederick R. Gose (U.S. Army, Ret.), 83, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. 

He has been a resident of Liberty County for the past forty-five years. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant after twenty-four years and did two tours of duty in Vietnam. He also retired from Coastal EMC. Before enlisting in the Army, he signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. While attending high school at Ligonier High School he excelled in basketball, baseball, track, and fast pitch softball.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula Gose.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Cahoon (Mike) of Midway; three sons, Steven Gose (Cynthia), Andrew Gose both of Midway, and Daniel Gose (Christy) of Savannah; one grandson, Wesley Smith; brother, Terry Gose (Susan) of Conyers, GA; sister, Mary Stout (John) of Topeka, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Graveside services with Full Military Honors will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery.
