Eleonore Wilhelmine Lofton, 91, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2021 at her son’s home in Sunbury, GA surrounded by her loving family.
Eleonore was born on October 29, 1929 in Ehringshausen, Germany. For the past forty years, she lived in Hinesville where she worked for over twenty years at Liberty Regional Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed gardening and traveling but most of all she found joy in cooking for and being with loved ones. Her granddaughters, family, and friends meant everything to her. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Rachel of Sunbury, GA; two granddaughters, Jessica Lofton and fiancé, Aaron Avila of Hendersonville, NC and Sarah Lofton of Cullman, AL; and four sisters, Luise, Ilse, Wilhelmine, and Christel of Germany.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at GHC Hospice for the love and care that was shown to Eleonore in her final days.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.
Social distancing practices will be in place and masks are required to enter the funeral home.
