Darryl Pitts

Darryl Pitts, 51, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at home.

Darryl lived the past thirty-five years in Midway. He had a passion for music, especially southern rock and enjoyed going to music festivals. He grew up with the Van Zant family and was a die-hard Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. Darryl was also an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson and liked to spend quiet time at the boat hoist. He liked to watch Alabama football.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Pitts; brother, Howard Pitts; and the love of his life, Sandra Frank; and son, James Dalton Pitts.

Darryl is survived by two daughters, Ashley Pitts and Amethyst Pitts; son, Jacob Pitts; three grandchildren, Sandra Hamilton, Kayleigh Martin, and D.J. Martin; father, Grover Pitts; brother, Clifford Pitts; several extended family members; and many friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend J.C. Wright officiating.
