It is with extreme sadness that we announce that Curtis W. Collins (10-18-82) passed away unexpectedly on February 7th, 2022. Curtis was 39 years old.
Curtis's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were Blessed to be touched by him understand that his existence and the imprint he left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that he stayed here.
Curtis was simple, kind hearted, loved everyone and never met a stranger especially if you were an Atlanta Braves or Florida Gators fan. He was a talented artist who could look at anything and recreate it even though he never pursued that path. Aside from that, he enjoyed playing basketball, sports, landscaping, the Marvel and DC universes, video games, reading, scary movies and collecting sports memorabilia. Most importantly Curtis enjoyed his family and was a terrific brother.
Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Proman Collins; and grandmother, Mary Proman. He is survived by his grandfather, James S. Proman; father, Ron Collins; brother, Brian Keith Proman; sister, Kira Collins; grandparents, Wendel and Sue Collins; as well as his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Curtis will be desperately missed by all those that he’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. He was one of a kind and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed.
A memorial service to honor Curtis’ life will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
