Consuelo "Connie" Dunn

Consuelo “Connie” Dunn, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 108 years young, she lived one FULL life.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Connie would often remind those she befriended with this saying “I came to this country alone as a very young girl, and I worked to build a life here.” And, what an incredible journey she had for nearly a century. Unparalleled work ethic and determination served as the foundation that prevented anyone or anything from standing in the way of her dreams.

On July 13, 1945 she married the love of her life, Richard “Fred” Dunn, and they shared 65 wonderful years together before he passed. They were blessed with their only child Cynthia who gifted them with the undisputed title “Best Grandparents in the World” over the following years with the births of three granddaughters.

All who were blessed to know her, knew that she was one tough cookie with a feisty attitude. She never left home without her signature flashy hat or her bangled bracelets and if you had the time, she always had a great story to tell.

Connie leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Cynthia Aguirre; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Phillip) Swint, Sandra (Ernesto) Rosa and Christina (Brandon) Hayes; seven great-grandchildren, Jaliyah Brown, Jazzelle (Wellington) Soto, Eric Alvarado, Eileyna Rosa, Jessica Rosa, Amauri and Avayah Hayes; one great-great-grandchild, Lisette Soto; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know her. We would also like to thank the Hospice of South Georgia nurses for the love and care they provided to Connie.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
