Carolyn Bradley

March 24, 1934 — May 20, 2019

Carolyn Bradley, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2019. Carolyn was born in Bradenton, FL and spent most of her life in the Savannah area. She retired from the Georgia Ports Authority after many years of faithful service. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was a poet, author, and a devout Christian believer.  A prolific poet, she wrote poetry and stories to share with her family and friends, often writing about Heaven and her strong Christian faith. She enjoyed quilting and sewed beautifully intricate quilts for her family, which are cherished as heirlooms by her children and grandchildren. Her vibrant energy and whimsical sense of humor made her a joy to be around, and her family benefited from her generous nature. She loved to sing and enjoy music with her musical children and grandchildren, often requesting her favorite hymns to be played on guitar or piano. Her family and friends are comforted knowing that she is at peace in Heaven, held in the arms of Jesus, and reunited with her parents, Gordon Carmichael and Ida Loggins Carmichael; and her sister, Audrey. We love you Mama/Gram and look forward to seeing you again one day in Heaven! She is survived by her two children, Chuck Bradley (Debbie) and Kay Leonard (Michael); grandchildren, Matthew Smith (Sandra), Michael Smith (Beth), Patrick Leonard (Emily), Kailey Bradley, Krista Bradley, Andrew Bradley (Angie), and Neil Bradley; great-grandchildren, Carli, Eli, Sofia, Ashley, Levi, Connor, Annabelle, Elizabeth, Bennett, Andie-Lynn, and Emmie; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm in the chapel. Burial will follow in Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
