Betty Nell Braudy

November 29, 1941 — April 25, 2021

On Sunday, April 25th, Betty “Betty Nell” Young Braudy of Parrish, Florida, transitioned from her earthly life of 79 years into her eternal life with her Heavenly Father.

Betty spent most of her life as a resident of McIntosh County, Georgia. She was a bookkeeper in the area and a faithful servant of her home church, South Newport Baptist Church.

Betty was a kind, loving, compassionate, Christian woman with patient wisdom and an easy-going sense of humor who devoted herself to loving and helping others as Christ would. She was a faithful prayer warrior and gave unselfishly of her talents and gifts to help others in any way that she could.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Elkanoh “Ken” Braudy; her mother, Ella Pearl Young Davis; and one brother, Orris “Tater” Davis.

Betty’s church family and friends were more than acquaintances to her. Betty loved them all as her family.

She leaves behind her God-given daughters, Judy (Clark) LaRoche of Shellman Bluff, GA,  Cynthia (Kenny) Thrift of Jones, GA, and children, Randall & Heidi LaRoche of Parrish, FL, along with many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Services to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at South Newport Baptist Church on Friday, April 30th. A time of visitation will be from 1-2 pm with the Celebration of Life beginning at 2 pm.  Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery in Jones, GA. Services will be officiated by Rev. Randall LaRoche.  Pallbearers are Virgil Jenkins, Ben Townsend, Glenn Townsend, Mark Goodrich, Barry LaRoche, and Derrick LaRoche. Honorary pallbearers are Clark LaRoche Jr., Charlie LaRoche, & Dennis Goodrich.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elwood Park Baptist Church’s Kids Park Ministry at 3516 45th Street East, Bradenton, FL to continue Betty’s support of this ministry for the kids she loved.
