Belen Rico

Mrs. Belen Rico, 76, went to be with her Lord Savior on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center after a short illness. Born in El Paso, TX she lived in Liberty County for the past 50 years. 

She and her husband, Daniel decided to make Hinesville their home after he retired from 22 years in the U.S. Army. It was here that she met all of her closest friends. She met most of them while working at the Ft. Stewart Commissary and at St. Stephen Catholic Church. All of her friends became part of her family in so many ways. 

Belen enjoyed traveling, shopping, going to the movies, and bowling.  Above all else, attending church held significant importance in Belen's life. It was her sanctuary, where she found solace in her faith and connected with her community. The fellowship she experienced during church services brought immense joy to her heart. 

Belen is survived by her husband, Daniel “Danny” of 57 years of blissful marriage; one son, Mike (Christi); one daughter, Lourdes “Ida” (Paul); and two grandsons, Michael and Cole. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 399 Woodland Drive, Hinesville, GA 31313, with Father Adam Kasela officiating.
