Alivea Kristine Cox

February 6, 2004 — June 4, 2018

Alivea Kristine Cox, 14, gained her angel wings on June 4, 2018, following a short illness.  She recently completed the 8thgrade at Richmond Hill Middle School.  She was an outstanding student, received the Principal’s Honor Roll and was a member of the Beta Club. Alivea was in the Richmond Hill Middle School band and was First Chair French horn player in the Wildcat Winds band.  She was chosen for the Director’s Award, that is presented to those that demonstrate, not only outstanding talent, but outstanding character in band.  She also played trumpet and piano.  In addition, she sang in the chorus, was part of the Year Book staff, and served as an anchor for the daily RHMS Wildcat News. Club 412 was an extracurricular weekly Prayer Club that Alivea co-founded.  The scripture that inspired the Club was 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”  Alivea also played basketball and softball for the Richmond Hill Recreation Department, took gymnastics, ballet and karate lessons, enjoyed reading, riding horses and riding her bike.Based on submission of an essay regarding patriotism, Alivea was selected as one of four students to travel to Washington, D.C. in 2017 to place the wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Alivea was preceded in death by an infant sister, Leilani Kristine; great grandmother, Gladys Long Wallace; and grandfather, Alton Cox.  Survivors are parents, Allen and Kristi; sisters, Allena, Allie and Alea; grandparents, Ken and Edwena Fillers; grandmother, Peggy Cox; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
