Alieze Miner McGrath

January 28, 1933 — July 25, 2021

Alieze Miner McGrath, 88, of Richmond Hill, GA passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2021.

Alieze was born in Richmond Hill, GA, the daughter of the late Grace Miner and William Joseph Miner.  She attended Richmond Hill High school and graduated from Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, Georgia.  She graduated from St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1953.

Alieze had a distinguished nursing career to include service with St Josephs, Savannah GA, VA Hospital in Columbia SC, and retired from Wynn Army Hospital at Fort Stewart GA.   

She was an active member of St Anne’s Catholic Church, previously participating in the choir and adult education classes.  She was a recipient of the Garland Award from the diocese of Savannah.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert J. McGrath Sr.

Alieze is survived by her nine children; Robert  McGrath Jr. (Kathy), Theresa M. Neidlinger, Timothy F. McGrath (Sophia), William (Billy) McGrath, Anne Marie Jones (Hamer), John A. McGrath (Linda), Mary Ellen Daniel (Dallas), David (Chris) McGrath (Lauren), and Patrick McGrath (Allison); twenty-five grandchildren, Megan M. Teeple, Erin M. Derganc, Ellen N. Desjardins, Dale T. Neidlinger, Jr, Andrew Neidlinger, Allie Grega Larson, Bobby, Timothy, Dorothy, Michael and Simon McGrath, Will McGrath McCall Rackley and Griffin Jones, Sean and Abby McGrath, Dallas, Jr, Brennan, John Wesley and Matthew Daniel, Mackenzie, Jack, Addison, Reagan and Garrett McGrath; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Miriam (Pic) Free; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Martha-Mary Chapel of St. Anne Catholic Church. Rosary service will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday July 30, 2021 in the main sanctuary of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Richmond Hill, GA. The public is invited to join the service via Livestream at www.facebook.com/stanneccrh.
