The life of Pvt. Michael Brett Roark was abruptly taken from his family and friends on December 5, 2011 in Hinesville, Ga. Our beloved son, brother, grandson,and friend will be deeply missed by all. Michael was born on December 23, 1991 in Kirkland, Washington and spent his childhood in Washington State where he shared his passion for fishing, music, bonfires on the beach, wildlife preservation,and playing practical jokes on each unsuspecting person. Michael's dream was to be a soldier. Soon after highschool he signed up for the army and entered boot camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky where he trained as an infantry scout. His next duty location was Fort Stewart,Georgia where he awaited possible deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. Michael received his discharge from the army on Dec. 2, 2011. A celebration of Michael's life with full military honors, will take place on December 17th, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St. Shoreline, WA. for all who wish to attend. A private gathering will take place following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's name to the Marysville Food Bank or the children's charity of your choice.
