Siglinde Juliana Benefield

Siglinde “Sigi’ Benefield, 82, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

She was born in Germany and moved to the United States in 1958.  She worked for H&R Block until her retirement after 20 years.  She attended Elim Baptist Church, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and a life member of the DAV and VVA auxiliaries. 

Sigi was an avid Braves fan and enjoyed baking.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eddie Benefield; three sons and their wives, Ed and Roxann Benefield of Atlanta, Charles and Faye Benefield of Tifton, and Gunter and Stancha Jung of Berlin, Germany; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, March 20, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral will be 11:30 am, Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in the chapel at Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Bentley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at 1 p.m.
