Glean Eva Bruce

Glean Eva Cooper Bruce, 82, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017.

Born and raised in Vicksburg, MS, she was a resident of Hinesville for nearly 40 years.  Mrs. Bruce lived in the US and Germany as an Army wife before she and her family settled in Hinesville in 1978, where she was a homemaker and worked at Lamas Cleaners for many years.  She was an active member of Good Shephard Missionary Baptist Church.  She was an excellent cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John H. Bruce, and a son, Anthony Bruce.

Surviving are her sons, Curtis Cooper (Alisa) of Hinesville, Greg Cooper (Earicka) of Elizabethtown, KY, and John H. Bruce, Jr., of Hinesville; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters and a brother, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, May 5, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral services will begin at Noon, Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Good Shephard Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. C. L. Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Park.
