Robert Henry Sauls

January 14, 1924 — May 5, 2017

Midway

Mr. Robert H. Sauls Sr., born January 14, 1924, has entered eternal rest on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Memorial Medical Hospital.

Robert was born in Bryan County and a longtime resident of Midway, Georgia. Robert was a WWII Vet and a Purple Heart recipient and worked over 30 years at Union Camp in Savannah.

Robert was a longtime member of Hinesville Church of God until his health took him from attendance.

Robert will be remembered as a kind, soft-spoken, Christian man. Robert has shared many stories of his war days. You should consider yourself blessed to have been one of the few that has sat with him and heard these stories. The knowledge you take in from these old WWII Vets should be cherished for when they are gone, so is that history. Robert has decided to take off his boots and hang up his helmet because God needs his soldier home.

Robert has taken his rightful place in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Sauls; his 4 children, Robert Sauls, Jr., Diane Iler, Michael Sauls and Ouida Shelley; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Respects can be paid at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Visitation is Monday, May 08, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services are being held at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel on May 9, 2017, at 3 p.m. Following will be the burial in Mt. Olivet Church in Fleming, GA.
