Larry Edwin Waldron

August 2, 1947 — July 28, 2017

CW4 Larry Edwin Waldron (US Army, retired), 69, passed away peacefully Friday, July 28, 2017, at Liberty Regional Medical Center with his family at his side.

After serving 27 years in the United States Army, Larry retired to the Midway area in 1997.  He was a Desert Storm Veteran as well as an award-winning executive chef at John Ryan’s Bistro at the Radisson in Downtown Savannah.  Larry was a fun loving, witty, individual with a unique sense of humor.  He was definitely unforgettable.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Harold Waldron; mother, Kathryn Waldron; sister, Carolyn Dickey; and son, Charles Phoenix.

Larry is survived by his wife, Yun Sun Waldron of Midway; his sister, Debbie Anderson of Henderson, NV; three daughters, Simone Cochran (Pat) of Hinesville, Susan Barton (Tom) of Williamsburg, VA, and Tina Howard (Patrick) of Ozark, AL; his son, Shan Phoenix, Jr., of Portsmouth, VA; two grandsons, five granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 4, 2017, at Richmond Hill Holiness Church at 11 a.m.  Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be in the Columbarium at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at 1 p.m.
