Victorino Pimentel

April 17, 1936 — October 4, 2017

SFC Victorino Pimentel (United States Army, retired), 81, passed away at home Tuesday, October 3, 2017, surrounded by his family after a short illness. 

Born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, he was a resident of Hinesville for 41 years.  He was retired from the US Army after 22 years of service.  During his service, he was an MP and an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Specialist.  After his retirement, he was a police officer with the Department of Defense on Fort Stewart for many years.   He was Protestant by faith. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Victor Manuel Pimentel, Sr.; his parents, Flor and Laura Morales Pimentel; and siblings, Agustina Pimentel, Justino Pimentel, Severino Pimentel, and Carmen Maria Pimentel.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elvia Pimentel; daughter, Myrna Iris Kervin (Scott) of Riverside, AL; son, Gerald “Jerry” Pimentel of Hinesville; daughter-in-law, Tammy LaRree Pimentel; two grandchildren, Victor Manuel Pimentel, Jr., and Jennifer Christine Pimentel; three sisters, Florencia Pimentel of Bronx, NY, Antonia Pimentel of Somerset, NJ, and Felicita Pimentel of Carolina, PR; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9:30-11 am, Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 11 am in the chapel.  Burial with Full Military Honors will be in Oglethorpe Memorial Park.

All Law Enforcement will be honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to thank their dear friends, Melissa Todd Peters and the Robles family, for the care and support they provided for Mr. Pimentel and the rest of the family.
