Janice Priester

March 19, 1935 — October 18, 2017



Janice Priester, 82, passed away at home Wednesday, October 18, 2017, surrounded by her family. 

Raised in Savannah, she was a resident of the Hinesville Area for 34 years.  She was retired from civil service with the Defense Commissary Agency where she was the Customer Service Manager at the commissary on Fort Stewart for 35 years.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Howard F. Priester, Sr.

She is survived by her two children, Howard F. Priester, Jr. (Joslyn) of Hardeeville, SC, and Patricia Osterhous (Jerry) of Ludowici; grandchildren, Adam Archer, Patrick Priester, Brian Purvis, Randell Purvis, Christopher Priester, Kerri Priester and Tiffany Osterhous; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jasper N. Brown of Claxton; several nieces and nephews, and friends of 40 years, Roxy Duncan and Dru Lewis. 

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, October 20, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
