Peggy Williamson Bunting of Colonels Island passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, at her home under the care of Georgia Hospice. 

Peggy was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to John and Mae Williamson and was the second of four children.  She was a resident of Liberty County since moving from Radcliff, Kentucky, to Hinesville in 1977.   Throughout her life, Peggy’s love for God, family, and friends was never questioned.  With a smile that radiated from her loving soul, she touched the hearts of everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Charles B. Bunting, and sister, Joy Williamson McCardel.

She is survived by her three children, Debbie Whitehurst (Jud), Diana Wise (John), and Bubba Bunting (Shannon); grandchildren, Brian, Mark (Clare), Jennifer (Dana), Stephen, Blaine (Emily), Aiden, Zach, Madison, Olivia, Kyle, and Grayson; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Mallory, Kimmi, and Sophia.

Also mourning her loss and cherishing her memory are her brothers, Jimmy Williamson (Juanita) and John Williamson (Beth), and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10am, Monday, May 7, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 11am.  Burial will be in Dorchester Cemetery.
