Doris Williams Hendricks

June 5, 1929 — August 28, 2018

Doris W. Hendricks, 89, passed away at Liberty Regional Medical Center Tuesday, August 28, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Born in Johnson County, she lived most of her life in Hinesville.  She was a member of Midway First Baptist Church and the VFW.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Aaron P. Hendricks; one grandson, Nathan P. Hendricks; parents, J.E. and Lonnie Bell Williams; and brother, James H. Williams.

She is survived by her children, Thomas D. Hendricks (Jane) of Marietta, Dwane P. Hendricks (Shari) of Savannah, Mary Sue Prince of Hinesville, and Joann Downs (Rick) of Jesup; grandchildren, Tegan Childers, Rachel Hendricks, Jennifer Caskey, Joey Prince, Ashley Jones, Quincy Jackson, Callie Jackson, and Heather Downs; two great-grandchildren, Joanna Jones and Allison Jones.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral Services will begin at 10 am, Friday, August 31, 2018, at Midway First Baptist Church with Reverend J.C. Wright officiating.  Burial will be in Williams Chapel Church Cemetery in Kite, GA, at 4 pm with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.StJude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.

Mrs. Hendricks’s family would like to thank the staff of Coastal Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided to her.
