Gary Glynn Cox

November 7, 1967 — September 17, 2018


Gary Cox, 50, passed away at home Monday, September 17, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his family.

A life long resident of Richmond Hill and Midway, he was a volunteer Liberty County Firefighter and Station 12 Fire Chief for several years.  He worked for Dan Vaden Chevrolet for 20 years.  Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, going out in his boat, and helping others.  There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help out friends, family, or someone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Peggy Cox, and a niece, Alivea Cox.

Surviving are his wife, Ginger Gordon Cox, and daughters, Kanae Bailey (Jonathan) and Ariel Cox, all of Midway; one grandson, Colton Bailey; brothers, Allen Cox (Kristi) and Michael Cox (Wendy) of Richmond Hill; sisters, Sherry Guy (Shane) of Richmond Hill and Lisa White (Patrick) of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will begin at 3pm, Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
