Wade Dewey McCallar

September 4, 1952 — November 12, 2018

Wade Dewey McCallar, born September 4, 1952, passed away at home on November 12, 2018.  He was a graduate of the 1970 class of Bradwell Institute and served in the US Army from 1972 until 1975.  Wade also attended St. Leo university from 1977 until 1979.  He was an active member and former chairman of the Liberty County Recreation Board.  He was past chairman of both the Mt. Olivet Administrative Board and Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Dewey McCallar, his mother, Mildred Crowley McCallar Haymans, and his sister, Donna Crowley.

Wade is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cindy; son, Greg McCallar (Melissa) and granddaughter, Dayle, of Hinesville; son, Phillip McCallar (Angel) and granddaughter, Lexie, of Fleming; uncle, Paul Crowley (Margie) of Fleming; uncle, Clinton Crowley (Bobbie) of Crossville, AL; niece, Karen Crowley Primrose (Keith) of Pembroke; and nephew, Keith Crowley (Christy) of Metter, GA.

Visitation will be 6-8pm, Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 p.m, Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, and burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Moe Gill, Charlie Phillips, Keith Crowley, Robert “Sport” Light, Paul “Bubba” Crowley, and Steven Crowley.
