MSG Robert A. Bell (United States Army, retired), 78, passed away at home Thursday, December 13, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Born in Atlanta, he was a resident of Hinesville for the past 44 years. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. He loved his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Bell, and two daughters, Sherry Wetzel and Brenda Kay Bell.

Surviving are his two children, Kathy Thomas (Jimmy) and Gary Bell; three grandchildren, Christopher Wetzel, Christina Wetzel, and Jessica Thomas; five great-grandchildren, Cayden Vickers, Anna Thomas, Megan Wetzel, Ryan Wetzel, and Emily Wetzel; and son-in-law, Michael Wetzel.

Visitation will be 6-8pm, Monday, December 17, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11am, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Park.
