Elmer Hunt, Jr., 62, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019, at home.
He lived most of his life in Charlotte, NC, and in Hinesville the past eight years. He loved sports, fishing and working in the yard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Pete Hunt; mother, Margaret Geackel; two brothers, Ricky Lee Hunt and Texas Pete Hunt; and two sisters, Dianne Hunt Gordon
He is survived by his stepdad and stepmom, Kenneth and Elizabeth Geackel of Hinesville; two brothers, James Gordon Norton of Matthews, NC, and Ralph Edward Hunt of Charlotte; two sisters, Martha Sabo of Hinesville and Rosa Hunt (Bruce Jones) of Denver, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The family will receive friends for the hour prior to the service. Following the service, there will be a reception at the VFW Post 6602, 931 Elma G. Miles Parkway, Hinesville, GA 31313.
