Richmond Hill Jimmy Jones, 73, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Memorial University Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Richmond Hill and Savannah, he was a member of Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church and the Georgia Air National Guard. Right after high school, Jimmy went to work for Tucker Typewriter. Later, he was the manager of Plum’s Restaurant, and most recently he worked at MacAljon, Inc. He was an avid fisherman and collector of old tractors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tirzah Jones, and his father, Bill Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanine Safford of Pittsgrove, NJ; stepdaughter, Shondi Karoudjian (David)of Savannah; mother, Irma Humphrey of Richmond Hill; brothers, Richard Jones (Jeanette), Gary Jones, Charles Jones (Kathy), Kenny Jones (Dana), and Roger Jones (Maryann); sisters, Diane Brinson (Mickey) and Cookie Blocker (Keith); two grandchildren, Samantha Griffith and Dustin Safford; three great-grandchildren, Aubry, Bryan and Chase; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 2pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.
